Discipleship Class

The Discipleship Class is currently meeting Thursday nights and is closed until September 2008 when a new class will begin.  This is a 38 week class for those who want to grow as disciples and become a more obedient and effective follower of Jesus Christ.  The first eighteen weeks concentrate on the "inner disciplines" including such things as prayer, worship, study, fasting, celebration, sacraments, the Bible, etc.  The second eighteen weeks concentrate on the "outward disciplines" of the faith including Spirit-filled ministry, witnessing and evangelism, etc.  This is a life-changing course that has been taken by over 100 people at the cathedral and it has greatly deepened and equipped our people to serve the Lord, love honor and obey Him.  Please call the office if you would like to sign up for this challenging and rewarding adventure!

One Another Groups

Our cell group ministry is called "one another groups."  Over 30 times, when the New Testament writers speak of ministry they use the expression "one another" when describing it.  So Christians are told, "love one another, pray for one another, encourage one another, carry one another's burdens, weep with one another, rejoice with one another, rebuke one another, teach one another," etc.  We teach people ministry skills through the Discipleship class (mentioned above) through sermons, studies of every kind and retreats so that they are "equipped for the work of ministry" (Ephesians 4).  Therefore our primary way of doing basic level pastoral care is in our "one another groups."  These meet throughout the week in homes and at the Cathedral.  Please call the office in order to learn of times and places so that you can pick one that suits your schedule and location.
