The communist government of Laos has, for the moment, opened a door into this lonely country for christians to enter. Martin Bunsey and his family have moved from Fresno to Laos, as part of
Global Teams, to plant new Episcopal churches and bring the gospel to every tribe and village.
Your prayers and financial partnership will help Global Teams as we organize four projects. One is for clothing. This is the greatest need in Laos, for the young and needy.
Global Teams will collect new and used clothing, ship it, and distribute it in Laos.
The second project is health and medical. There are thousands of children in unreachable parts of Laos who need medical attention.
Global Teams can schedule with Laotian officials for targeted regions, and recruit doctors, nurses, health specialists and volunteers to visit patients, as well as provide medications and medical supplies. |
|
Our third project is community development. The Laotian people are very open to receive training classes to improve farming techniques, establish electricity in designated farms, build irrigation systems, wells, canals, and dams, and establish new fish, cattle, hog, chicken, and vegetable farms.
Our fourth project is schooling. Almost every urban area has a great need for school buildings and teaching skills.
Global Teams works with Laos' local governments to establish school buildings, provide faculty and staff, provide supplies and salaries, and build office buildings and churches at the school sites.
Already, in 2004, a new school was launched in the capital city that will teach
students English and computer skills. So important was this to the Laotian
people that it was the lead story on the evening news for two nights running! |

Sudan
In Sudan, a radical Islamic regime has declared a jihad (holy war) on its own African Christian and animist populations. Those who refuse to accept the Government of Sudan's policies of Islamazation and Arabization are starved, enslaved, or killed.
Since 1983 nearly 2,000,000 people have been killed — more than in Chechnya, Bosnia, Rwanda, Kosovo, and Somalia combined. Twice as many Sudanese have died in the past 17 years than all the war related deaths suffered by Americans in the 200 year history of the U.S.
In addition to man-made famine, the Government of Sudan uses slave raids to subjugate the African population. Tens of thousands of black women and children have been enslaved to serve as domestic slaves and concubines.
Unlike our U.S. Government, American citizens have responded to the crisis in Sudan with outrage. Americans from all walks of life have united to call the issues of slavery and genocide to the attention of our national leaders.
Join your fellow Americans and stand up for life and liberty, everywhere they are threatened. If you would like to become a local freedom organizer in your region, please contact The Sudan Campaign at 202 822 6106, or visit their Web site, below.
